Spaced Repetition
AceRanker uses the SM-2 algorithm to schedule review sessions at optimal intervals, ensuring long-term retention of concepts you've learned. Every question you get wrong is automatically converted into a review card — and the AI decides exactly when you should see it again.

Overview
Navigate to Spaced Repetition under the AI Learning Hub in the sidebar. The overview page shows your card counts, upcoming schedule, and a list of all topics with due cards.
The top section displays three key metrics:
| Metric | Purpose |

| Due Today | Cards that need review today (shown in amber when cards are due) |
| Total Cards | All cards in your spaced repetition deck |
| Next Review | Date of your next scheduled review session |
Each topic card shows:
- Topic name and subject tag (e.g., MATH)
- Status badge — Due (overdue), On Track, or Mastered
- Accuracy — your current accuracy percentage on that topic
- Interval — days until the next scheduled review
- Reviews — total number of times you've reviewed this topic
- Start Review button — launches the review session for that topic
Starting a Review Session
Click Start Review on any due topic to begin. The review launches as a quiz-style session in Revision Mode with a timer.
The review interface shows:
- SR Review: MATH header with the subject being reviewed
- Revision Mode badge and timer
- Question counter — Answered, Correct, Wrong, and Marks
- Standard MCQ question format with options (A), (B), (C), (D)
- Next Question and End Session buttons
Answering Review Cards
For each card, read the question and select your answer. The questions come from your error history — topics where you previously made mistakes.
After answering all cards, the algorithm adjusts future review dates based on your performance:

| Correct | Card interval increases — you'll see it less frequently |
| Wrong | Card resets to short interval — you'll review it again soon |
| Consistent accuracy | Card gradually moves to "Mastered" status |
How the SM-2 Algorithm Works
After every quiz, questions you answered incorrectly are automatically converted into review cards. The SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm schedules when you should review each card:

| Good | Recalled with some effort | 3-7 days |
| Easy | Recalled instantly | 10+ days |
Why It Matters
- Questions you struggle with appear more frequently
- Questions you've mastered gradually space out to weeks or months
- Over time, this builds long-term retention with minimal daily effort
- The algorithm adapts to your individual learning speed per topic
Review your due cards every day — even 10 minutes of spaced repetition is more effective than an hour of cramming before an exam.
